Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) imposed ban on broadcasting of speeches and pictures of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) supremo Altaf Hussain following court orders.
The ban was imposed following directives of the Lahore High Court (LHC) that barred broadcasting of live and recorded speeches of Altaf Hussain.
PEMRA officials said that the ban becomes effective immediately while all television channels were directed not to air quoted words of Altaf Hussain.
