Highlighting the miseries of commuters, the JI leaders said that more than a million people have been affected by the ban on some 60, 000 QinQi rickshaws, while at other hand the government so far is unable to run a fleet of even two dozen busses.

QinQi rickshaw association leaders said that the court had not banned the rickshaws but ordered the concern authorities to regularize and issue permit for the rickshaws. They vowed to obey the court orders and also asked the police to do so.

They demanded of the government to release the 10, 000 rickshaws, which were bounded by the traffic police in recent few weeks. They said that if unrest prevails among poor in the city, privileged class would also be let enjoy their luxurious lifestyle.

The speakers said that the government is not serious in mitigating the miseries of millions of people, neither it was intended to resolve the problems of 60, 000 CNG rickshaw owners and other people associated with them.

We are not intended to violate the laws but we reserve the right of peaceful protest and soon a besiege of the CM House would be announced in this regard, they announced.
