ISLAMABAD: Former Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq announced on Monday that his lawyers will prove election tribunal’s verdict regarding polls rigging in NA-122 constituency ‘biased’ in Supreme Court.
Talking to media after getting the copy of verdict, Sadiq, who stands de-seated as a result of election tribunal verdict on rigging in NA-122 constituency said that he will file a review petition in Supreme Court tomorrow as the time for the move has passed due to the late reception of copy today.
On Sunday, an election tribunal ordered re-polling in Lahore’s NA-122 and PP-147 constituencies, won by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Mian Mohsin.

The tribunal declared the elections in both constituencies null and void due to irregularities committed by the polling staff.
Following the decision, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq announced to challenge the verdict in the apex court, saying that he respected the verdict with some reservations.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says the decision is part of a legal process and all the political parties should honour it.
The Prime Minister, in a statement, said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would adopt the available legal recourse and rights over the decision.
