NADRA introduces lifetime CNICs for persons with disabilities

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced the issuance of unique lifetime Computerised National Identification Cards (CNICs) for persons with disabilities and organ donors.

These cards will feature a wheelchair symbol to facilitate easier identification and access to services.

According to a NADRA spokesperson, the Pakistani government has approved amendments to the National Identity Card Rules of 2002.

As part of these amendments, NADRA will issue special ID cards for individuals with disabilities and those who have donated organs, aiming to enhance their convenience and recognition.

The new ID cards for people with disabilities will be lifetime cards, featuring the wheelchair logo. These will be available to both Pakistani citizens living within the country and those residing abroad.

Additionally, the Juvenile ID cards (B-Forms) for special children will also carry the wheelchair symbol.

Registration with relevant federal or provincial authorities will be mandatory for people with disabilities to obtain these cards.

Furthermore, organ donors will receive a special lifetime card with both a wheelchair and donor symbol, provided they are registered with the relevant donor registration authorities.
