£190m case: Verdict against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi delayed for 3rd time

In  the much-awaited verdict of the £190 million case, the accountability court has sentenced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to 14 years rigorous imprisonment and his wife Bushra Bibi to seven years imprisonment.

Earlier, the judgment was last reserved on December 18, 2024.

Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed announced the verdict amid strict security arrangements inside and outside Adiala Jail to maintain peace and order. Besides, women police officers and plain clothed officers have also been deployed in and outside the jail.

The court also imposed a Rs1 million fine on Imran Khan and Rs0.5 million on his spouse Bushra Bibi, who was taken into custody from the courtroom soon after the verdict was announced.

In case of failure to pay the fine, the PTI founder will undergo further six months in jail while his wife will serve three months.
