The Russian news agency has claimed that a pager-style attack on the Iranian nuclear facility has been foiled.
Russia’s official news agency Tass quoted Iranian Vice President Javad Zarif as saying that a bomb was installed in the platform of a gas centrifuge used for uranium enrichment, which was disabled.
According to the news agency, Javad Zarif also indicated the involvement of Israel behind this action.
Javad Zarif, while giving an interview to the Iranian media, talked about the pager blasts in Lebanon, said that Israel took a long time to prepare the pager blasts, but perhaps these blasts were possible due to sanctions.
He further said that because of the restrictions, it is not possible to buy directly from a manufacturer, which has to buy from a third party. If Israel enters the supply chain, it can do whatever it wants and install whatever it wants.
He gave an example that when the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization bought a centrifuge, it was found that explosive material was installed inside it, which was detected by experts.
Zarif said that this incident happened because of the sanctions that Iran has to avoid, due to which, along with financial losses, Iran’s security has also been damaged.
However, Javad Zarif did not clarify when this incident took place.
It should be noted that on September 17, 2024, hundreds of pagers exploded in Lebanon, as a result of which 12 people were killed and thousands were injured.
