£190m case: Verdict against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi delayed for 3rd time

The much-awaited verdict in the £190 million case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi  has been delayed for the third time today.

Accountability court Judge Nasir Javed expressed anger over the no-show of the accused and said he had been present at the court since 8:30am, leading to the postponement of the verdict.

The judge told reporters present in the courtroom that he has been sitting in here for two hours, but none of them have appeared today. He added that let’s give them another chance.

The National Accountability Bureau’s prosecution team, the court staff  and the media men were present in the court room, however, none from the defence were in attendance.

Meanwhile,  PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, speaking to the media outside Adiala jail, has ruled out the verdict’s postponement as part of any deal.

He said that we were all waiting at the court today as the court staff had informed them the verdict would be announced at 11am.

He termed the case as a politically motivated, adding the Al-Qadir Trust case is politically motivated and  an unfair process to compromise Khan sahib.

According to him, the PTI founder will not bow down and stand firm. The former prime minister will keep fighting for the people, judiciary, and the Constitution, he added.
