Google to rollout AI audio feature that gives users 5-minute news rundown

Google is testing a new AI feature called ‘Daily Listen’ to provide its users with 5 minutes of audio on topics and stories of their interest.

According to the report, the AI-powered 5-minute audio will be generated by artificial intelligence based on the user’s feed and the news of interest they have searched on their mobiles or devices.

Similarly, Daily Listen also provides cover art with AI-generated audio transcript reviews.

This Google feature is available for both Android and iOS users in the US, and can be activated by clicking on the triangular shaped baker in the top left corner of the Google app and going to the Search Labs section.

A day after enabling the feature, users will see a Daily Listen card with the MedForeo label appearing in the space carousel below the Google search bar.

Clicking on this card opens a full-screen player that also asks for thumbs up or thumbs down to get feedback from users.

This Google AI feature also gives users the ability to control audio by playing, pausing, rewinding and muting.

Remember that in September last year, Google introduced the Audio Overviews feature of NotebookLM, which uses artificial intelligence to convert documents into 10-minute podcasts.

This option features ‘AI hosts’ that summarize uploaded content, make connections between topics, and joke with each other.

Google added an interesting audio overviews feature to the feature a few weeks ago, whereby users can engage in conversations with AI hosts and “call in” to podcasts to understand something differently or add to it. Can request information.
