Google is preparing to introduce its mobile payment system Google Wallet (also known as Google Pay) in Pakistan.
Google is likely to introduce this payment system in Pakistan in January 2025, which will prove to be an important development in terms of digital payments.
The company announced on its developer page that Google Wallet is being rolled out in 16 countries, including Pakistan.
Along with the announcement, it was also mentioned that the service is being launched in Egypt, Pakistan and Venezuela in January 2025.
Google Wallet was launched in 2011 and is a digital wallet that allows users to securely store their debit or credit card details while making payments directly from their Android phones.
Boarding passes, event tickets, ID cards and more can be stored in Google Wallet.
That is, everything you keep in your traditional wallet can be stored in Google Wallet.
To use it, the Google Wallet app must be installed.
After installing the app you need to login to Google account and then add payment method like credit or debit card.
Once you’ve added at least one card to your account, you’ll be able to make mobile payments in stores through Google Wallet.9
