Shaheen Afridi set to overtake Wasim Akram

Former Pakistan captains Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi are on the brink of creating history in T20Is, when they will face South Africa in first limited overs game in Durban.

For starters, Babar Azam is just 39 runs away from over-taking India’s Rohit Sharma to become the all-time leading runs scorer in T20Is.

He is currently at the second spot with 4,192 runs in 126 games.

Currently, former India captain Rohit Sharma is leading the chart with 4,231 runs in 159 matches. His is followed by teammate Virat Kohli, who is third in the list with 4,188 runs in 125 matches.

Interestingly, the duo has hanged up their boots in the format after triumphing the ICC T20 World Cup earlier this year.

Most Runs in T20I Career:

Rohit Sharma (India) – 4,231

Babar Azam (Pakistan) – 4,192

Virat Kohli (India) – 4,188

Apart from Babar, pacer Shaheen Afridi is also closing in on a major achievement.

He is just three wickets away from becoming Pakistan’s third player to take 100 wickets in T20Is.

Haris Rauf leads the wickets chart for Pakistan with 110 wickets in 77 matches, followed by Shadab Khan’s 107 wickets in 104 matches.

If Shaheen takes three wickets, he will not only join the 100-wicket club but also become the 19th bowler overall and the eighth pacer to achieve this feat.
