Amid strict police crackdown, PTI workers started gathering at Swabi Interchange

On the call of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, a march on Islamabad would be held today, for which workers have started gathering on Peshawar Motorway.

Amir Dogar and Zain Qureshi arrested

Sources said that PTI chief whip Amir Dogar and leader Zain Qureshi were arrested by Punjab Police. Both the leaders have been detained from Kadirpuran Toll Plaza Multan.

The first battle will be at Swabi Bridge

Swabi to Motorway is closed for all types of traffic. The bridge has been closed by placing a container at the Indus River in Swabi and a heavy contingent of Punjab Police is present on the other side of the Swabi Bridge. The first battle of the PTI convoy will be at Swabi Bridge.

As per the directive and call of founder PTI founder, the leadership has declared today’s protest as decisive and appealed to the public to participate in large numbers.

Under the leadership of  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, convoys from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will reach Swabi and then Islamabad in the form of the main convoy.

Gandapur said that he will stage a sit-in at D Chowk until all demands are met, including the release of Imran Khan.

According to the chief minister’s spokesperson, no matter how many roads are blocked or containers are placed, they will protest and make their demands met after reaching Islamabad. They are not taking government but private machinery to open the roads, he added.

PTI leader Shandana Gulzar said that whether it takes 12 hours or 100 hours, in any case they will reach D Chowk. The government will dig roads or place containers wherever the road will be blocked, they start their sit-in there.

Bushra Bibi, the wife of the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, has decided not to participate in the protest and to monitor the caravans from the Chief Minister’s House Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
