The federal apex committee of the National Action Plan has approved a comprehensive military operation against terrorist organizations in Balochistan.
According to the announcement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over the federal apex committee meeting of the National Action Plan in which the members of the Cabinet, chief ministers participated.
Army Chief General Asim Munir, senior government officers also participated in the meeting.
The agenda of the meeting was to reactivate Pakistan’s anti-terrorism campaign.
It has been said in the statement that the participants were briefed on the security situation, measures against terrorism and other important challenges. The meeting was also briefed on efforts to deal with religious extremism and peace in the country.
The statement added the meeting was also briefed on measures against the illegal spectrum and crime nexus, terrorist networks, sabotage and disinformation campaigns, among other issues.
The forum emphasized the need for a unified political voice, national narrative to effectively address the challenges and said that national consensus under the vision is critical to reactivate the national counter-terrorism campaign.
The committee approved a comprehensive military operation against terrorist organizations in Balochistan and these terrorist organizations include the banned Majeed Brigade, banned BLA, banned BLF and BRAS.
It has been said in the declaration that these terrorist organizations are targeting citizens and foreigners to thwart the country’s economic development and all this is happening at the behest of enemy forces.
