Parents can protect their children from diabetes: Study

A latest has revealed a simple and easy step that parents can take to prevent their children from developing diabetes later in life.

According to the study published in the journal Science, children whose parents keep their children away from sugar for the first two years of life have significantly lower rates of diabetes and high blood pressure throughout their lives.

According to the study’s results, this effect remains strong even if the children start consuming more sugar after the age of two, and the risk of diabetes remains low.

About 85 per cent of children eat added sugars daily, despite public health recommendations. For infants, sugar-sweetened yogurts and baby food cereals are included, while for toddlers, coffees, pastries and drinks with added sugars are included.
