Three foreigners dead, several hurt in blast near Karachi airport

At least seven people were dead and several others injured in a remote controlled blast targeting a police van in Mastung.

Five children, a cop  and a passer-by were among the killed and 30 injured in the explosion occurred near Civil Hospital Chowk, police and rescue sources said. Most of the injured are schoolchildren.

The bodies and the injured have been shifted to DHQ Hospital.

They said that the blast took place near a police van, which completely destroyed along with with several vehicles including rickshaws.

Balochistan Government Spokesperson Shahid Rind strongly condemned the blast and sought a report on the incident from the provincial home department.

Local district administration, bomb disposal squad and security forces are present at the site of the blast and are determining the nature of the explosion, he added.

Rind added that evidences are being collected from the blast scene and emergency has been declared the hospitals.
