Maulana Fazl announces consensus reached on judicial reforms

A consensus has been reached between the Pakistan Muslim League-N, PPP and JUI on the issue of judicial reforms with regard to 26th constitutional amendment.

The political parties have decided to continue talking about the rest of the issues.

After dinner at Jati Umra, the Jamiat Ulema Islam chief, PPP chairman and deputy prime minister held a joint press conference.

Fazl said that today we discussed the constitutional amendment in which we have reached a consensus among the three parties on the issue of judicial reforms.

He said that there is no agreement on the rest of the issues, which are still being discussed.  Fazl announced that he will go to Islamabad and meet the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and try to convince them.

He further said that they are trying to reach a consensus on other points on which the discussion is going on. I will also try to reach a consensus with PTI on the issue of judicial reforms, he added.

He further said that if the government agreed to our draft, then we will welcome otherwise we have rejected their proposed draft already.

Fazl said that the consultation on the draft constitution is going on, on which they are moving towards a consensus and will make this journey to a consensus.
