Pakistan Stock Exchange has reached a new all-time high above 86,500 points as SCO summit underway today.
The PSX benchmark KSE-100 index gained 673 points to hit 86,513 in intraday trade as of 10:41am. Yesterday, the market closed at 85,840 points.
AKD Securities Director Research Awais Ashraf has said that the investors are optimistic about positive outcomes from the ongoing Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit and additional investment commitments from the Chinese premier.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed the opening ceremony of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit at the Jinnah Convention Centre.
PM Shehbaz, in his opening remarks, said that the regional powers are at a historic moment of transition where sweeping transformations are reshaping the social, global, economic, political and security landscape.
He further said: “I, from the esteemed platform of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, stand in the belief that we possess not only the potential but the will to forge a future which is more prosperous and secure for our people.”\
The premier, earlier, welcomed the visiting leaders that followed by a group photo.
