Women’s team captain Fatima Sana was seen burst into tears during the national anthem ahead of the T20 World Cup game New Zealand in Dubai.
Hailing from Karachi, 22-year-old young captain Fatima Sana’s father died last week on Thursday, after which she immediately reached home city on the first available flight. But, after the funeral prayer and burial, returned to Dubai to participate in the do and die game against New Zealand.
However, before the start of the match, she could not control his emotions and broke down in tears during the national anthem, the videos of which went viral on the internet.
In the match against New Zealand, the national team had to face defeat and apart from Fatima Sana, no player could compete with the Kiwi bowlers. The green shirts’ hopes of playing in the semi-finals ended.
Both India and Pakistan teams are out of the semi-final race of T20 World Cup 2024 with the defeat in the match.
