Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi reached Lebanon’s capital Beirut despite Israeli attacks during an unannounced visit.
According to Lebanese state media, the Iran’s top diplomat’s plane landed at Beirut’s Rafiq Hariri International Airport, marking the first visit by a senior Iranian official to Lebanon since the martyrdom of Hassan Nasrallah.
Taking to X, formerly known as twitter, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman wrote: “We just landed at Beirut International Airport. Our delegation headed by Iranian foreign minister and accompanied by two MPs and the head of the Red Crescent Society will meet with high-ranking Lebanese officials.”
He said that a shipment containing 10 tons of food and medicine will be presented to Lebanon as part of Iran’s humanitarian aid.
Esmaeil Baghaei added that Tehran is steadfast in its solidarity with the Lebanon’s brave people. He said that everyone in the region should understand the seriousness of the situation that Lebanon is facing.
On the other hand, Israel continues to attack Lebanon and Lebanese security sources said that Zionist forces attacked Hezbollah-affiliated aid workers in South Beirut, in which three workers were injured.
Last night, a major attack was launched by Israel on Beirut, in which the target was Hashim Safiullah, the expected head of Hezbollah.
