Pakistan has expressed the hope that Afghanistan will work with it to build mutual trust and good neighborly relations.
These views were expressed by Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry while talking to Afghan Ambassador Janan Mosazai in Islamabad.
On this occasion, strong protest was lodged over recent cross-border violations from Afghanistan side.
The Afghan Ambassador was conveyed that as per guidance of the leadership, Pakistan would continue its policy of restraint and responsibility and constructive engagement with Afghanistan.
However, it expects that the Afghan government will take effective measures to obviate recurrence of such incidents on the border.
Concern was also conveyed over the recent spate of allegations and media campaign from Afghanistan side.
The foreign secretary stressed that such allegations undercut mutual confidence and affect the environment of bilateral relations.
