If you are using iPhone then this news is for you that how a new software ‘bug’ can crash your device.

As reported by TechCrunch, there is a bug in iOS where just typing these 4 characters (“”::) can disable your mobile phone.

Typing the above 4 letters into the search bar of the Settings app crashes Springboard. Similarly, if you swipe right on your home screen and type them in the app library search bar, the device will also be affected.

Triggering the bug also causes Springboard to crash, and then reload to your lock screen. During one test, the bug even blackened the screen for a second.

Ryan Sturtz, who knows a lot about iOS security, said that this bug doesn’t seem like a big security threat.

No official statement has been released by Apple regarding the bug, nor has the company advised its iPhone users to be cautious.
