Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused Israel of warmongering

In response to the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Tehran will force the terrorist occupiers to regret over the cowardly act of this martyrdom.

According to Arab media, the Iranian president said that Iran will defend its territorial integrity and dignity. Tehran will force the terrorist occupiers to regret over the cowardly act of martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, he added.

Pezeshkian added that today Iran is mourning the martyrdom of a proud and permanent companion of the path of resistance. Yesterday I raised the victorious hands of Ismail Haniyeh and today I will bury him on my shoulder, the Iranian president said.

On the other hand, the Iranian foreign ministry said that Ismail Haniyeh’s blood will never be wasted. Haniyeh’s martyrdom will further strengthen the Tehran-Palestine relationship as both he countries have a deep and unbreakable relationship.

Also, according to Iranian media, Ismail Haniyeh was targeted by an air attack on his residence in Tehran, while the authorities are investigating further to find out the details of this action.

Earlier today, Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh has been assassinated in Tehran, the Palestinian resistance group said.

In a statement, the group said their leader was killed in “a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran”.

The Hamas chief and one of his bodyguards were killed when the building they were staying in was attacked, reports quoting a statement from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said.

The Revolutionary Guards said that early this morning, the residence of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran was struck. As a result,  the Hamas chief and one of his body guard martyred. The incident is being investigated and findings will be announced soon.

Ismail Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Senior Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk said the murder of Ismail Haniyeh is a cowardly act that will not go unpunished.
