RAWALPINDI: Two C-130 aircraft carrying relief goods for the quake victims of Nepal arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday (today), ISPR said.
Inter Services Public Relations told on Tuesday it was second consignment of relief and aid to earthquake-hit Nepal.
The relief goods included ration and medicines. Special equipment used in search operation as well as teams of engineers and medical staff have also been sent to the quake affected country.
The aircrafts were left for Nepal on today’s morning.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Sunday four Pakistan Air Force (PAF) aircraft carrying rescue and relief assistance, including a 30-bed mobile hospital, had landed in Nepal.
They were carrying a medical team of doctors and paramedics, a 30-bed hospital, medicines, tents, water, dry food, and a search and rescue team with equipment
The relief team and equipment have been put together with the collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan Army, PAF, National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan, the embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu, the embassy of Nepal in Islamabad, and the Nepalese authorities.
Besides making efforts for relief assistance in Nepal, the embassy also reached out to Pakistani expatriates to extend their support.
According to ISPR, the 30-bed hospital will be run by Pakistan Army doctors including surgical, medical, orthopedic, gynecologist, anesthesiologist, child specialist, radiologist and paramedics.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had offered humanitarian assistance in telephonic conversation with his Nepalese counterpart Sushil Koirala following the midday earthquake
