KARACHI: Rangers’ spokesperson has released identification of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists arrested during a late night raid on Thursday in Landhi area of Karachi.
Four persons including target killers were arrested during raid conducted in Landhi number 6 area of the metropolis yesterday, spokesperson said.
The arrested persons include in-charge of MQM’s Unit 84, Aqeel, and joint in-charge Nasiruddin. Aqeel was involved in cases of target killing while both persons were closer aides of Salim alias Inqilabi and Manzoor alias Lamba.
Security officials have handed over Ghayas Uddin to his parents after finding no criminals records, spokesperson added.
Fourth suspect was identified as Sajid who was involved in arms’ smuggling in the metropolis.
The spokesperson said that ‘Karachi Operation’ left positive impacts on the metropolis which helped establishment of peace in the economic hub of Pakistan. He said that betterment in security situation led citizens to celebrate Independence Day of Pakistan today in large numbers while more than two lakh persons visited Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum here on Friday.
