The Senate passed a resolution against the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the amendments to the Army Act.
The resolution against the decision of the Supreme Court was presented by Senator Dilawar Khan in the House, the Senate passed the resolution against the decision of the Supreme Court by majority vote.
Senator Raza Rabbani and Senator Mushtaq Ahmed opposed the resolution.
The resolution said that the decision of the Supreme Court is an attempt to rewrite the law, the decision of the Supreme Court is an attempt to influence the legislative authority of the Parliament, the trial under the Army Act against those who attack the Pakistan Army is constitutional and legal scope. In the State, trials under the Army Act against those accused of insurrection, arson and violence prevent such incidents.
The resolution said that the Senate stands with the families of the martyrs. The families of the martyrs have expressed feelings of insecurity and betrayal over the decision. There are fears that terrorism will be encouraged in the absence of trial by military courts. The decision of the military courts has played an important role in ending terrorism.
