Lahore: Tehreek-e-Insaf President and former Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi has challenged his detention in court.

PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has challenged his detention in the Lahore High Court.

In the petition filed by Parvez Elahi, it is said that the notification of detention is equivalent to influencing the court decision, therefore the notification of the Deputy Commissioner of detention should be declared null and void.

Yesterday, Deputy Commissioner Lahore had issued a notification of Parvez Elahi’s detention for one month.

In the letter written by the police to the Deputy Commissioner, it was said that during the investigation, it was revealed that Parvez Elahi could pose a threat to peace, so he should be allowed to be detained under the 3MPO.

On July 11, the Banking Court of Lahore approved PTI President Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s bail application after his arrest and ordered him to submit a surety bond of Rs 5 lakh.
