IMF directs Pakistan to cut expenditures or present mini-budget

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a $3 billion loan program for Pakistan.

The Executive Board of the IMF has approved the standby agreement with Pakistan, after which an tranche of 1 billion 20 million dollars will be released to Pakistan immediately.

According to the statement, $1.8 billion will be scheduled in November and February after reassessments.

According to the IMF, Pakistan has to stick strictly to the policies decided, the economic reform program in Pakistan is to provide immediate support to the economy, the program will help Pakistan’s economy to remove internal and external imbalances.
