JI warns of laying siege to punjab assembly

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq on Friday demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan to withdraw the notification issued for the successful mayor of Karachi.

Addressing a protest in front of the ECP office here, the JI ameer said that the commission had committed injustice with the Jamaat-e-Islami in the Karachi mayor polls.

Criticising the ECP, he said that everyone was surprised after witnessing the defeat of those who bagged 900,000 votes and the victory of 300,000 votes. He further added that the political party having the support of 153 members was declared victorious over the party having the support of 193 members.

“Election commission failed to fulfil its responsibility despite receiving high salaries and perks. We did not receive any reply of our letter to the ECP yet. Institutions are usually failed to give due rights to the nationals.”

The JI chief criticised that Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced to win the upcoming general polls just like Karachi mayoral elections.

Sirajul Haq alleged that PPP is once again trying to continue its corruption as it committed in the past.

The JI chief said that the rule of corruption will not be accepted anymore and the rule of justice will be established in the country. “Test tube leaders cannot compete with the JI.”
