LAHORE: Chairman, Human Rights Network, Pakistan (HRNP), Liaqat Baloch and Secretary General, HRNP, Asadullah Bhutto, have, on the occasion of the World Minorities Day, called upon the Pakistan government to ensure implementation of the legal, human and social rights of the minorities in the country.

In a joint statement here on Tuesday, they said that the minorities were patriotic Pakistanis. They said that the minorities were under pressure all over the world as the majorities did not implement the minorities’ rights and the minorities were generally ill-treated.  They said that the JI stood with all the minorities residing in the country and fully supported their lawful rights.

The JI leaders called upon the government to increase the minorities’ quota in government and semi government organizations and also enhance the financial assistance for the poor and middle class minority people.
