ISLAMABAD: Federal Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir has said that the dream of Nawaz Sharif and Benazir has come true with the start of power generation from the Shanghai Tharcoal project.
While giving a press conference in Islamabad, Khurram Dastgir said that the project of Shanghai Tharcoal has started the production of electricity, this project is 1320 MW, the project of Thal Nova 330 MW has also been completed.
Khurram Dastgir said that the dream of Nawaz Sharif and Benazir has come true, 1,980 megawatts of electricity has been generated from Thar in one year.
The federal minister said that there are 175 billion tons of coal reserves in Thar and there is a capacity to generate 100,000 megawatts of electricity from here, while the Iran-Gwadar transmission line has been completed to import another 100 megawatts of electricity.
