Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan announced the dissolution of the assembly today.
Addressing the provincial cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said that he will send the summary for the dissolution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly today and will dissolve the assembly today in the interest of the country.
He said that the last four years passed very smoothly, I am thankful to all the cabinet members, government, opposition members and bureaucracy, special thanks to the people who trusted me.
On the other hand, the spokesperson of the KP government, Barrister Saif, has also claimed that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will sign and send the summary of dissolution of the assembly before 12 o’clock tonight.
Apart from this, opposition leader Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Akram Khan Durrani says that the Chief Minister sent a message through a close associate to present no confidence, three ministers have spoken to his servant.
Last month, President Arif Alvi approved on Wednesday appointment of JUI-F’s Haji Ghulam Ali as governor of Khyber Pakhtukhwa.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had forwarded summary to President Dr Arif Alvi to appoint Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl’s Haji Ghulam Ali as governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in the summary issued by the PM’s House, referred to Article 101 to advise President Alvi to appoint Haji Ghulam Ali as the governor and sign the Commission of Appointment.
Currently, PTI’s Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani is serving as the acting governor.
Haji Ghulam Ali had remained member of Senate from March 2009 to March 2015. According to the Senate website, Ali also remained a member of the Board of Investment and Trade of KP between September 2012 and September 2015.
Haji Ghulam Ali also served as the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting chairman from 2009 to 2012.
He was honoured with Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2012.
