ISLAMABAD: The Banking Court, Islamabad, has extended the interim bail of PTI Chairman Imran Khan till January 31 in the prohibited funding case.

The case related to Imran Khan’s pre-arrest bail in the prohibited funding case was heard by Banking Court Judge Rukhshanda Shaheen.

Special Prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi requested to reject Imran Khan’s bail application, while Imran Khan’s lawyer requested to give two weeks time on medical grounds to appear in court.

The special prosecutor said that Imran Khan has been running political affairs since the incident in November. Imran Khan is running political affairs but does not appear in court, so the request for exemption from the presence of Imran Khan should be rejected.

Prosecutor Rizwan Abbasi said that Imran Khan did not appear in the court and did not participate in the investigation, except for bail bonds. Imran Khan did not follow a single court order and his bail application should also be rejected.

The court rejected the special prosecutor’s request to interrogate Imran Khan in Zaman Park in the prohibited funding case and extended exemption from his appearance today. Court also extended the interim bail till January 31 and ordered Imran Khan to appear the investigating officer in any case.

Source said that during the political support of Imran Khan, the ex-military establishment had ‘conspired’ to delay the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s foreign funding case on behalf of the Election Commission of Pakistan.

However, whatever was going on in the background those days, an informed source aware of the events and circumstances insists that there was no pressure on the Election Commission to pronounce the verdict against the PTI in the foreign funding case, as Imran did. Khan accuses.

Imran Khan has said several times that the Election Commission was “asked” to decide the cases against him and the party, but on the contrary, the source said that in the case of delay in PTI’s foreign funding case. The establishment of that time played a role

As soon as the military establishment decided to adopt an apolitical attitude, the Election Commission became the master of its own and decided the case on merit. The funding case against the PTI has been pending since November 2014, when party founder member Akbar S. Babar alleged serious financial irregularities in the party’s funding from Pakistan and abroad. I have been unusually late.
