ISLAMABAD: Lawmakers from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) on Thursday withdraw their resolutions in National Assembly seeking de-seating of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs.

The resolution which was presented by both parties in National Assembly’s Tuesday session was withdrawn on the request of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government.

The MQM and JUI-F had filed motions seeking to de-seat PTI’s lawmakers for remaining absent from the lower house for more than 40 days.

In recent meeting with parliamentary parties, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made it clear that he want to see PTI in Parliament.

He also requested MQM and JUIF to take back their motions against Imran Khan’s Party so the matter could not become a record of Parliament.

On this occasion Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that his party has backed from its stance against PTI sit-ins and resignation of PTI MNAs but due to request of the government and for the democracy his party decided to withdraw its motion against Khan’s party.

MQM convener Dr Farooq Sattar said that his party after the request of the government called a party meeting and decided to take the motion back in the best interest of the democracy.

On this occasion Speaker NA appreciated both parties for withdrawing their respective motions against PTI.

It is pertinent to mention here, that PTI MNAs had decided not to attend any NA session till this matter settled.
