Quaid Nawaz Sharif to nominate PM's name after successful no-confidence motion

ISLAMABAD: After the swearing in of the new federal cabinet, the portfolios of the ministers were handed over to them.

In the federal cabinet, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah has been given the portfolio of interior ministry and former finance minister Miftah Ismail has once again been given the ministry of finance while Marriyum Aurangzeb has been given the ministry of information.

Besides, Ahsan Iqbal has been given the ministry of planning, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar the ministry of law, Shahzain Bugti the ministry of counter narcotics, JUI’s Mufti Abdul Shakoor the ministry of religious affairs, Talha Mahmood the ministry of travel and Maulana Asad Mahmood the ministry of communications.

Tariq Bashir Cheema of PML-Q has been made Federal Minister for Food Security and Syed Aminul Haq of MQM has been given Federal Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet took oath here on Tuesday.

The swearing in ceremony of the Federal Cabinet was held at the Presidency. Chairman Senate and Acting President Sadiq Sanjrani took oath from the Federal Cabinet. President Arif Ali had refused to take the oath of office due to ill health.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s cabinet includes 31 federal ministers and three ministers of state. Three advisers are also part of the federal cabinet.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Khurram Dastgir Khan and Marriyum Aurangzeb were sworn in as Federal Ministers.

Khawaja Saad Rafique, Miftah Ismail, Mian Javed Latif, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Azam Nazir Tarar, Syed Khurshid Ahmad Shah, Syed Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, Abdul Qadir Patel are also part of the cabinet of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Shazia Marri, Syed Murtaza Mahmood, Sajid Hussain Turi, Ehsan-ur-Rehman Mazari, Abid Hussain, Asad Mahmood, Abdul Wasay, Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Muhammad Talha Mahmood, Syed Aminul Haq, Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari, Muhammad Israr Tareen, Nawabzada Shah Zain Bugti and Tariq Bashir Cheema is also among those who took oath.

Appointment of Dr. Ayesha Ghous Pasha, Hina Rabbani Khar and Abdul Rehman Khan Kanjo as ministers of state has been approved.

In addition, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Engineer Amir Muqam and Aun Chaudhry have been appointed as advisors.
