Alkhidmat Foundation’s women’s wing trust distributes ration worth over Rs10m

KARACHI: Alkhidmat Foundation’s Women’s Wing Trust has achieved the distribution of more than Rs1.12 worth of dry ration to the poor and needy.

CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig and President Alkhidmat Foundation’s Women’s Wing Trust Naveeda Anees inaugurated the Mega Ration Center on Saturday morning. Rubeena Shakeel and Ayesha Saad from Women’s Wing Trust were present on the occasion along with senior officials of Alkhidmat. Four trucks of dry ration were dispatched from the Trust’s headquarters to locations in interior Sindh and Quetta, Balochistan.

The dry ration contained flour, sugar, rice, milk powder, tea, besan, chana dal, chick peas, dates, cool beverages and other edible contents. Speaking after the inauguration, Naveed Ali Baig lauded the efforts of the Women’s Wing Trust in achieving the distribution of more than Rs1 crore worth of ration which would give relief and succor to the underprivileged sections of society. He appealed to the more fortunate sections to come forward and assist the Women’s Wing Trust in their efforts. Naveeda Anees also highlighted the initiatives of the Women’s Wing Trust in providing assistance and welfare services to the poor in all facets of life. She informed that the four truckloads of ration would be distributed among the needy in Orangi Town, Lyari, deprived areas of Karachi, interior Sindh and Quetta, Balochistan.

She added that 1,000 Burmese Muslims living in Korangi were also given these rations. Each Ramadan ration package cost Rs4,500 according to her. She also informed that Alkhidmat Foundation’s Women’s Wing Trust was working in the fields of Health, Education, Orphan Care and others. A Budget Bazaar is also organized for ladies, while modern and religious guidance was also being imparted to these ladies.
