COAS visits flood-hit areas of Chitral

RAWALPINDI: Pakistani Chief of Army Staff (COAS) has visited flood-hit areas of Chitral district in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.

COAS reviewed ongoing relief operation being conducted in flood affected parts of Chitral while he was also briefed over details of the ongoing relief operation by the armed forces, ISPR said.

General Raheel Sharif assured flood victims for complete restoration of the situation and directed to increase pace of the relief activities.

He praised firm efforts of Frontier Works Organization (FWO), Frontier Corps (FC), military troops and Army aviation units for provision of assistance to the nationals trapped in the floods.

COAS said that all institutions are working efficiently to rescue nationals affected by the dangerous floods in various parts of Pakistan. He also ordered FWO for complete restoration of the communication infra-structure.
