ISLAMABAD: Following the opposition’s threat to stage a sit-in in the National Assembly if the Speaker does not table the no-trust motion in the parliament on Monday, the government is mulling to convene the assembly session on March 25 instead of 21st.
Sources said that after the press conference of the opposition leaders, the prime minister, the Speaker and other ministers have reviewed he situation.

According to sources, consultations were underway on convening the National Assembly session on March 21 earlier but the government is now considering convening the session on March 25 instead of 21st.
Federal Cabinet sources said that the National Assembly session will be convened after the OIC meeting. Due to the OIC meeting, the charge of the National Assembly Secretariat is with the Foreign Ministry.
Parliamentary sources say NA session must be convened within 14 days of the recusal but the session is not necessary.
Meanwhile, Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that if National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser does not table the no-confidence motion on Monday, then we will see how the OIC conference is held in the country.
The Opposition on Monday announced a sit-in in the House if no no-confidence motion is not tabled in the parliament on Monday.
Talking to media after the meeting of the Opposition here Saturday, Bilawal said that if the Speaker adopts undemocratic approach then the opposition would stage a sit-in. Let see how you organise the OIC conference? We will sit there on the floor until we are given not given our due right, he said.
He said that they are trying to hatch a conspiracy to prevent the use of the right to vote by violence. But I congratulate the people and nation of Pakistan. Imran has lost the majority. This is the victory of Pakistan and the Pakistani nation, Bilawal said.
He said that seeing the defeat, Imran is adopting undemocratic attitude, now he has resorted to using force, first the parliament was attacked, now he has attacked Sindh House, which is symbol of federation. He is giving the impression that if he does not play then he would not allow anyone to play.
Bilawal further added that the prime minister wanted a constitutional crisis and a chance to the third force to intervene.
