ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court issued a written decision to restore Khawaja Asif’s right to cross-examine Prime Minister Imran Khan in the defamation case.
According to the verdict, the decision to abandon the right to argue was not in accordance with the rules of the transparent trial. It added that the trial court had decided to end the right to argue in haste.

The written decision issued by Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that the trial courts’s decision to withdraw the right to argue was against the law and declared null and void.
The trial court did not follow the necessary principles of transparency while making a decision.
According to Khawaja Asif’s lawyer, the trial court dismissed the right to argue against Imran Khan and other witnesses without issuing notice.
