Burqa-clad women protest against gas, electricity loadshedding in Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT: Burqa-clad women came to the streets against gas and electricity loadshedding here on Tuesday.

According to a local TV channel, women wearing burqa gathered at Qazi Ashfaq Chowk and staged a protest against gas and electricity loadshedding.

On the occasion, the protesters also set on fire gas and electricity bills.

The protesting women said that the city was facing power outages upto 8 hours and that of gas supply about 14 hours  a day.

Long queues of vehicle were seen on the highway after the talks between the protesters and the local administration had failed.

The women protesters said the road would remain closed until the deputy commissioner assures them of uninterrupted gas and power supply.
