KARACHI: The Supreme Court on Monday reinstated Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab after accepting his unconditional apology over making harsh remarks in court.
The Supreme Court heard a case concerning Gutter Baghicha land allotment case during which the city administrator appeared before the court.
During the hearing, Justice Qazi Ameen remarked that the land belongs to the state as it was not you personal property. You have to return the land.

To which, Murtaza Wahab exchanged bitter words with the bench and said that should we go and leave the government?
The Chief Justice expressing his displeasure over the harsh remarks of Murtaza Wahab instructed him to keep quite. Do not do politics here. Get out of here. We will remove right now. Are you an administrator or political leader? the Chief Justice remarked.
He added that administrator is appointed to serve the citizens so as to act impartially. The administrator is not appointed for politics.
The Chief Justice remarked that the administrator failed to perform his duties. The attitude of the administrator is of political leaders.
The court ordered Sindh chief minister to appoint a neutral and qualified person, adding that Murtaza Wahab is not eligible for the post of administrator.
Later, the administrator tendered an unconditional apology over his harsh remarks, which the court accepted.
