SKARDU: Prime Minister Imran khan has said that Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and interior Sindh lagged behind in development.

The prime minister addressing a rally during day-long visit to Skardu on Thursday said that poverty had decreased rapidly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The rich had got richer while the poor had got poorer in the country.

He said that there is more poverty in Gilgit-Baltistan, but the mountain ranges of Gilgit-Baltistan are the most beautiful in the world, so tourism can become the asset of the area.

The prime minister further said that the country cannot develop unless the poor come up and he was trying to work in backward areas. Skardu airport has been given international airport status, he added.
