ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan had turned its focus to geo-economics from geopolitics.
He said that the move came after the prevailing rise of strategic competition among global powers, which has undermined world peace.
Speaking at the Margalla Dialogue Forum 2021 – Foreign Policy Challenges of the Future in a Changing Geopolitical Landscape here on Tuesday, the foreign minister said that the changing environment had made the economic diplomacy more important.

The event was organised by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute.
Qureshi said that positioning Islamabad as a geoeconomic centre has to come as a mindset from the top down.
He said that Pakistan had to reset the prevailing geopolitical mindset and meet the importance of geoeconomics.
