NA-133: LHC dismisses Jamshed Cheema’s plea challenging rejection of his nomination papers

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court dismissed the PTI leader Jamshed Cheema and his wife Musarrat Cheema’s petition challenging the rejection of their nomination papers for NA-133 by-elections.

Earlier, Jamshed Iqbal’s nomination papers were rejected by the Election Commission of Pakistan on the basis that his approver was not from his constituency.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Jawad Hassan of the Lahore High Court heard the petitions of Jamshed Cheema and his wife Musarrat Cheema.

The applications challenged the decision to reject nomination papers for the coming by-election. The two-member bench announced the verdict.
