Kabul: There are reports of Taliban Special Forces Units patrolling in Kabul, which is very different from the traditional situation of militant groups.
The Taliban are usually identified by fighters wearing shalwar kameez and AK-47s on their shoulders, but the Taliban’s ‘Badri 313’ battalion force is very different.
The unit was previously featured in promotional materials distributed by the Taliban, but is reportedly equipped with highly trained and state-of-the-art military equipment.
It is not yet clear where the Taliban got the equipment for the battalion, but it appears to be US military hardware and weapons and other military equipment used by Afghan forces.
