AJK Election: PTI can form govt without support of other parties

MUZAFFARABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has gained a simple majority in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections and in a comfortable position to form government.

According to the unofficial results of 44 out of 45 constituencies, the PTI leads with 25 seats, PPP stands at second with 11 while the PML-N gets third position with 6 seats.

The Muslim Conference and Jammu Kashmir People’s Party bagged one seat each in the AJK polls.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has withheld the results of LA -16. According to the EC secretary, the results have been withheld over wastage of ballot papers due to brawl at the polling stations.

The decision with regard to re-polling at four polling stations in LA-16 will be made today.
