ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has termed July 5, 1977 as the darkest day in the history of Pakistan and said that the war between democratic and dictatorial forces is still going on.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in his message on the tragedy of July 5, 1977 said that on this day the democratically elected people’s government led by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was dislodged. July 5, 1977 is always remembered as one of the darkest days in the history of Pakistan.
Bilawal said that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto united the divided nation after the fall of Dhaka. Zulfiqar Bhutto supervised the passage of the Constitution by consensus. He laid the foundation of Pakistan’s macro economy, given the right to passport and citizenship to every Pakistani.
He said that the Quaid-e-Awam paved the way for the country to become a nuclear power.
