BENGALURU: India has reopened the Taj Mahal to the public as the second wave of Covid-19 slowed down in the country.
The white marble mausoleum, constructed by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in 17th century in Agra, was earlier closed in April in the wake of second wave of coronavirus.
Thousands of people are still being died from the deadly disease in India.
The local authorities have allowed only 650 visitors on the Taj Mahal premises at a time. Annually, seven to eight million tourists visit the historical place.
Meanwhile, the Red Fort and Qutub Minar in New Delhi had also been reopened to public.
