SC dismisses pleas challenging 26th constitutional amendments

ISLAMABAD: The government on Monday challenged the Lahore High Court decision regarding the removal of PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif’s name from the black list in the Supreme Court.

The petition seeks stay of the LHC decision. Shahbaz Sharif has been made a party in the plea being filed by interior ministry.

The government has taken the position that Shahbaz Sharif’s name was in PNIL. The Lahore High Court provided a final relief without issuing a notice. The court had no justification of allowing the PML-N leader to travel abroad without a notice, the plea added.

The text of the petition states that the decision on Shahbaz Sharif’s request to go abroad was pronounced on the same day. The Lahore High Court ruled against the legal principles.
