Cyclone: heatwave alert issued for Karachi from May 15 to 17

KARACHI: The. Met Office on Friday issued an an heatwave alert for Karachi from May 15 to 17.

Director Meteorological Department Sarfraz Ahmed has said that heat will intensify in Karachi from May 15 to 17, which is an impact of cycline.

Sardar Sarfraz said that at present there is no threat to the countries coastal areas from the cyclone but there could be a flood situation in the sea.

He said that high tide and low tide occur in the sea during May to September. Due to the cyclone, the waves can go more than 3 feet, so fishermen of Sindh should be careful while going to sea.

The director of the Meteorological Department said that the circulation in the sea pulls the sea breezes and the intensity of the heat increases due to the suspension of the sea breezes.

He said that hot and humid weather is expected in Karachi during next 24 hours with minimum temperature of 28.5 degrees Celsius and maximum temperature of 36 to 38 degrees Celsius.
