KARACHI: The establishment of Central Jail in the heart of Karachi city has become a torment for the surrounding population.
Due to security concerns, mobile phone service in the area has been suspended for several years due to jammers, affecting the population of New Town, PIB, Jamshed Road, University Road, Old Vegetable Market and other areas.
Without the emergency call facility, not only the normal life of the people but also the business is being badly affected. The locals have demanded to move the Central Jail out of the city.
Talking to the media, the affected citizens said that it is not right to deprive the common people of basic facilities in the name of security of the jail?
