LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a show-cause notice to Firdous Ashiq Awan, the special assistant to the Punjab chief minister, over violation of election code of conduct here on Saturday.
The district monitoring officer, Sialkot, has issued the notice to the PTI leader over violation of the code of conduct of election.
He also served the notice on PML-Q leader Chaudhry Saleem Baryar on the similar violation.
Earlier, Firdous Ashiq Awan had announced, during a press conference, a development package for NA-75 Daska. The show-cause notice said that the announcement of the development package by the PTI leader was in violation of the code of conduct set for the elections.
The PML-Q leader had also announced Rs50 million development package during his visit to NA-75 on April 9.
